Project Description: The renovation included the construction of the privately funded Norma Cannon Palms Rose Garden Pavilion, located within the east walled garden of Lieber College on the historic Horseshoe. Inspired by former First Lady Yvonne Russell’s vision to introduce a meaningful architectural element to the Rose Garden, the 16-by-18-foot pavilion—crafted from steel and aluminum and topped with a copper roof—offers a shaded space for reflection and respite among the roses, while symbolically honoring former Garden Club members.
