The University of South Carolina College of Pharmacy will provide paid membership to the South Carolina Pharmacy Association to all pharmacy students beginning this year, marking a significant investment in professional development and advocacy training.
The partnership ensures every student pharmacist gains access to networking opportunities, continuing education resources and advocacy training that will shape their careers beyond graduation.
"We are thrilled to provide all of our pharmacy students with membership in the South Carolina Pharmacy Association," says Jordan Ballou, associate dean for student affairs. "This partnership reflects our commitment to professional development and ensures our students have access to vital resources, mentorship and advocacy opportunities that will shape them into future leaders in pharmacy."
The initiative aligns with the college's strategic plan to advocate for pharmacy practice, while connecting students to a statewide professional community. Students will benefit from legislative updates, professional development programs and networking opportunities with practicing pharmacists across South Carolina.
By covering memberships for all student pharmacists, the USC College of Pharmacy is making a bold statement. They believe in equipping future pharmacists with the tools, connections, and voice needed to lead our profession forward.

They believe in equipping future pharmacists with the tools, connections, and voice needed to lead our profession forward," Clark notes. "We are deeply grateful to Dean Cutler, Dr. Sease, and Dr. Ballou for their leadership and unwavering support of SCPhA as we work together to strengthen pharmacy across our state."
The membership program aims to cultivate pharmacists who are both clinically excellent and professionally engaged. By connecting students to advocacy efforts and legislative issues, the college prepares graduates to contribute to the profession's future actively.
