Native to Mexico, from the state of Sinaloa, Perla Jazmín Richerson received her Bachelor of Arts in World Languages from the University of Alaska Anchorage and her MA in Spanish from the University of South Carolina in 2021. Her main areas of research include Gender and Film Studies, with an emphasis in female representation, using an intersectional violence scope. She has also worked on spatial practices in daily life that analyze how subordinated groups are represented compared to depictions of dominant groups.
